Solo 20-Minute Backyard Starter Workout

⏱ Total Time: 20 Minutes
📍 Location: Backyard or Driveway
👥 Participants: Solo (by-yourself)
🎒 Gear: 1 x basketball, 1 ring, runners

This balanced 20-minute daily session gives junior players a structured individual routine in their own driveway or backyard. It systematically develops fingertip handle, change of pace, soft touch finishing under the ring, and one-hand shooting mechanics.

The Routine

  1. Warmup (5 mins): spider-dribble - Quick finger coordination around the legs to warm up hand speed and establish rhythm.
  2. Dribble Rhythm & Control (5 mins): in-and-out-dribble - Sharp fake crossovers keeping the ball on the outside of the hand to freeze an imaginary defender.
  3. Finishing Under Ring (5 mins): mikan-drill - Rhythmic alternating right and left-hand finishes off the backboard without letting the ball hit the ground.
  4. Shooting Form Finisher (5 mins): form-shooting - One-hand form shooting from 1 metre directly in front of the ring, focusing on elbow under the ball and high wrist snap.
